Prayers Greatly Needed And A Update Of Where I Have Disappeared To

Good Morning Sweet friends,
I hope everyone is doing wonderful and enjoying there day. Gosh I have missed you all so much! I thought I would stop by today and fill you all in on whats been going on in my neck of the woods and where I have disappeared to. Some of you who know me, know that I am disabled and over the last year or so have not been feeling my greatest at times and have been sick on and off for quite awhile now. Well last Friday, I was rushed into the hospital for emergency surgery once again. By the grace of god and a lot of praying and love and support from my daughters and fiancee.....and the skillful work of my wonderful surgeon (as I was told last time, if I was to have to go through surgery again, I would not make it), I made it through once again! But, I do have a long road ahead of me and it's going to take quite sometime to get back on my feet once again.  I won't bore you with all the details, but do have a favor to ask from all you prayer worriers out there if you could say a little prayer for me that my recovery goes smoothly and hopefully will not be as long of a recovery as they are expecting.
I have to tell you all, I have never been so scared in all my life....It's funny how we get caught up with life at times and take so many things for granted.....until something bad has to happen to remind us of all the things we have taken for granted.
I would like to take this time to thank all you, sweet friends for your wonderful friendship and all your kind words and encouragement you have given me. Also for stopping by from time to time for a visit and leaving comments on my blog.....Your friendship and support and visits mean the world to me......and even though most of you I have never met, I feel like I have know you all my life......and I am so blessed to have made so many wonderful friends through this blogging journey of mine!
I look forward to catching up with everyone and seeing what has been going on in your neck of the woods while I recover. I promise to keep you updated.......
for now I am going to close...I wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
Until next time,
Big Hugs,
Mary
PS...Remember to live each day as your last and tell the ones close to you how much you love them....give them lots of  hugs and kisses!

New Offering For Early Works Mercantile!

Hello friends, I am sorry I am so late in posting my offerings for Early Works Mercantile(the link for the EWM is located on my sidebar, just click on it and it will take you there) for this month. It seems that the flu bug has struck at the Ole' homestead here, which has caused for my delay in posting and limited me to only one creation for this month. Here is a sneak peak at my offering......I hope I have sparked your interest and you will stop by to see more of her and her sweet little friends.....Meet Mammy Myrtle..........

Now it's time to go back to bed and hopefully try and get rid of this wonderful bug!
Until next time friends,
Big Hugs,
Mary

Yummy and Super Easy Apple Dumplings

Good Morning Friends, While making these wonderful and super easy Apple Dumplings last night, It came to me that you might like the recipe too! I came across this recipe (recipe is from Trisha Yearwoods) quite sometime back while surfing the web for something new to make and let me tell you......It is now one of our family's favorite go to's! Once you try them, and see how easy they are to throw together and how yummy they come out....You will be wanting to make them all the time!
Apple Dumplings
Ingredients:
2 Granny Smith Apples
1 Lemon
1 Cup Sugar
1 Stick Of Butter
1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
8 Canned Buttermilk Biscuits
4 Teaspoons Of Ground Cinnamon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Peel and core Apples and cut them into 8 slices vertically. Squeeze the lemon into a bowl of water and place apple slices into, to prevent them from turning brown. In a medium sauce pan, 1 cup of water, 3/4 cup of sugar, the butter and vanilla. Bring the sugar mixture to boil over medium heat.
Separate each biscuit into two layers. Wrap a biscuit layer around apple slice, stretching the biscuit slightly to overlap , and seal on the bottom. Place the wrapped apples seal side down in a 9x12 by 2 inch casserole dish. Pour the hot apple mixture over the wrapped apples. Mix the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle all over the tops of the wrapped apples. Bake until golden brown for 35 minutes. And Enjoy! (I served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream)
**Please note, do not get alarmed with all the liquid when pouring over the apple slices it may look like too much, but it's not trust me....It will evaporate and thicken some and make a wonderful sauce!
If you make them I would love to hear what you thought. :)
Until next time,
Big Hugs Mary
